Habitat/Engagement/Policy

The last few years have seen a increase in interest for tree planting.

Our partners are planting across the region. Flintshire County Council have an urban tree and woodland plan which is directing tree planting in towns.

Many schools are engaged in tree planting and businesses are purchasing and planting trees as part of environmental responsibility programmes.

We have begun to record our tree planting on maps, we have plans to expand this to create a clear picture of planting across the region.

We are looking at tree sourcing and the future supply of local stock with new local provenance tree nurseries in development.

Above all, tree planting is about planting the right tree in the right place, avoiding planting on already important habitats and ensuring that the trees planted don’t create future issues for our communities.
